Foodbank Maastricht is a community initiative using surplus food to raise awareness about unnecessary food waste and rethink how food is valued, shared, and redistributed within the local food system.
Through food giveaways, sustainability dinners, workshops, volunteer activities, and collaborations with local partners, the initiative creates practical spaces where sustainability, participation, food rescue, and social connection become part of everyday community life.
Every week, substantial quantities of rescued food are redistributed through recurring public activities and community events. At the same time, the initiative creates opportunities for people to participate, contribute, exchange experiences, learn, and meet others through practical involvement.
